Plans, pages and billing

What counts as a page

Every plan is priced in pages. A page is counted after the file is opened, not by the file - a PDF costs one page per page in the document; an image is always one page, however large.

FilePages counted
A 1-page PDF1 page
A 40-page PDF contract40 pages
A JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, AVIF or BMP photo1 page, regardless of resolution
An animated GIF1 page per 100 frames (large animations are estimated from file size instead)
A ZIP with 5 files insideEach extracted file is counted on its own terms and processed as a separate document

Some models cost more pages

The AI model you pick to summarize a document (see your summary model setting) spans a wide range of cost to run. Most models count as their normal page cost. A small number of higher-cost models draw down more than one page from your allowance per page processed, so a heavy model doesn't quietly cost you far more than a page's worth of allowance without you knowing:

ModelPages charged per page processed
Opus 4.6 (most capable)

Every other model, including the default (Gemma 4 26B (free, experimental)), charges 1 page per page processed - the same as it always has. A document that used a higher-cost model always says so in the jobs table and in the forwarding email footer, so the number that comes off your balance is never a surprise.

The plans

Free costs nothing and never expires. Plus is a monthly or annual subscription with a page allowance and optional top-ups. Pro is usage-based with no page counter, billed per page via Stripe metered billing. Prices and allowances below come directly from the plan configuration the app uses to charge you.

Free plan: what you get and what you do not

Free gives you 100 pages a month, PDF only. It does not include:

None of this is a bug: the free plan is intentionally cost-controlled so that documents never route to an expensive model against no revenue. See the model routing section for the underlying logic.

Running out

If you run out of pages and can't (or don't) top up, incoming documents are still forwarded to you - just without a summary. The subject line is tagged [indecs offline] and the email tells you to resend the document once your plan is topped up or renewed. Nothing is lost or silently dropped; you just need to send it again to get the AI summary.

Auto top-up

On a Plus plan, running low on pages can automatically charge your card on file, before you run out. Here is exactly when and how much:

Two caps limit how much this can charge you in one billing period:

To see or change your cap, go to the billing tab and look for "Auto top-up" - the spending cap field is right there next to the top-up toggle.

Expiry rules

Different kinds of page balance expire on different schedules:

BalanceExpiry
Base plan pagesReset every billing period. Unused base pages roll over exactly one period as "rollover pages", then are lost at the next reset.
Auto top-up creditsExpire 12 months after purchase.
PAYG bundle creditsNever expire.
Annual plan bucketThe full year's allowance is delivered upfront and expires at the end of the annual period, along with the renewal.

When pages are deducted, the order is: rollover pages first, then base pages, then reserve credits (top-up and PAYG combined, soonest-expiring first).

Changing or cancelling

You can change plans or cancel at any time from the billing tab. If you downgrade to Free:

If you're on a voucher, see vouchers and promotional codes for how removing one interacts with plan changes.
